JUNE 21-27
Family Camp ~
"Wholeness and Holiness"

Teen Camp '08

We were honored to have Supt. Mark Adams preach the Sunday morning Worship Service, and  to have Missionaries Jerry and Jan Coleman sharing their ministry with us for 3 days. Our Evening Worship services averaged 95 (including the children's service led by Lisa Langgin). Our adult Morning Chapels averaged 53.

Pastors Darrell Arms, Jim Berlin, Peter Kadar, Jim McGaffey, Randy Stateler, and Mark Tuttle presented teaching and messages that covered our theme "Wholeness and Holiness" - 71 adults and children were registered campers, as well as 23 teens led by Dave and Amy Condry. North Central Conference Camp Ministries director, Steve Hankins presented an enlightening seminar on understanding and merging our various personality traits in serving our LORD. Asst. Supt, Rev. Greg Marsh shared a travelogue of his pilgrimage through the Holy Land.

During the altar calls, at least a dozen new converts made decisions to accept Christ as their personal Savior, and dozens more re-committed their lives toward the pursuit of holiness and wholeness with Christ as their Lord.We have learned that prayerful obedience to the Holy Spirit is the first step in fruitful ministry, and that money always follows ministry. Wholeness and holiness - you cannot have have one without the other!

The teens chose helping in the kitchen and Dining Hall as their service project for the week. They have been a vital part of our Family Camps, but we look forward to having them scheduling and holding their own special separate camp in the future. We raised close to $6000 toward a $7000 "Matching Funds" challenge, $530 toward the Superintendent's "Flood Relief Appeal", and $250 in a spontaneous "love offering" to be used for the Missions Country Share Account.

JULY 28 - AUGUST 2
"A WEEK THAT WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE!"

Young Teen Camp

Junior Camp

Speakers Erick Ewaskowitz (Young Teens) and Chris Hinds (Junior Teens) challenged 30 campers to take their first or their next step of faith as they told the greatest story ever told; from the Creation to the Ten Commandments, from the Commandments to the First Christmas, from Christmas to the Crucifixion, from Calvary to Conquering death, from Conquering death to Communion, from Communion to Christ's Coming again! Andy Leisher provided music for our Evening Worship and the Worship Team from Fairfield helped with several Morning Chapel sessions.

Forty-two campers, counselors, and Camp Staff made "The Apostles' Creed," Romans 10:9-10, and Galatians 2:20 their personal confession of faith, and then, nailed their signatures to the Cross attached to the Tabernacle's altar. God moved in the hearts and minds of so many campers - it was truly an excellent camp that lived up to its theme.

Our thanks goes out to so many volunteers and willing workers from the Ottumwa FMC who worked so hard to prepare the campgrounds and traveled daily to assist with activities. We especially thank Cathey Gardner for the excellent meals, and Richard Wilson who brought campers on the Chillecothe FMC bus and drove us to the pool on all the +90 degree days.
