Plan on attending Pastor Greg Marsh's Holy Land Travelogue. He was able to take a tour during his recent Sabbatical leave and has a fresh, personal view and Biblical applications of the lands traveled by Jesus Christ and His disciples.

Jerry and Jan Coleman from Hungary are our guest Missionaries this year! They will be with us June 21-24... check out our Family Camp schedule.

Coleman Family Newsletter – JUNE 2008

Free Methodist Missionaries to Europe (JLKColeman@aol.com)

Since our April newsletter we’ve experienced a series of Good Things. This seems like an appropriate theme for our May/June issue!

David graduated from Fort Zumwalt West HS along with 544 other students! A few days later he boarded a plane for Budapest to watch his classmates from his old school graduate. The graduating class at the International Christian School of Budapest is about 20 students!

David will attend McKendree University, Lebanon, IL – he’s already signed up for classes and has a place on their ice hockey team!  We’re pleased with the significant scholarships he received that reflect his hard work in the classroom and on the ice! We’re also pleased that Kristin will be just down the road – at Greenville College – and can be a support to her little brother. David won’t be traveling with us as we visit churches and camps this summer.  He’ll be a counselor at Gateway Youth Camps in Greenville, IL.

Kristin is hard at work looking for meaningful summer employment. She’s been fingerprinted, background-checked and interviewed as she seeks work that involves her passions - children and psychology. In our area it’s not very difficult to find fast food jobs, but Kristin always enjoys a challenge and is looking for a career-moving experience!

Since we arrived in the USA just about a year ago we’ve traveled roughly 35,000 miles by car and 40,000 by air. We’ve become experts at packing a suitcase! Our most recent travels took us to France for a Europe area missionary retreat, England for the annual UK conference, Wisconsin for Partnership Building and Indianapolis for meetings. In June we’re looking forward to attending annual conference meetings for the North Central and Gateway Conferences, participating in the Heartland (IA) and Durley (IL) Family Camps and speaking on several Sundays. And Jan celebrates turning 50! These are good things!

The first ever retreat for Europe area missionaries in Chamonix, France was wonderful!  Mark VanValin was our speaker. It was great to be together with 22 adult missionaries, eight missionary kids and two missionary golden retrievers! The event was sponsored by an anonymous donor who believes in working hard, and then taking time to rest and refresh. We were all ready for this time away and thoroughly enjoyed it!

A highlight of the retreat was an auction of hard-to-get goodies using “jerry bucks.” Oreos, Reese’s and Poptarts were among the hottest items. We wish we could use “jerry bucks” to help meet the $60,000 deficit for 2008 Country Share Accounts (CSA) for the work in Europe.

We’re pleased that our Missionary Share Account (MSA) is 100% committed for 2008! We’re grateful for the good things of the Lord, which include your prayer and financial support                                        ~   The Colemans
